Developmental and Cognitive Pathways to Internal Pressure in High Achieving Women
This paper proposes a conceptual framework for understanding how vigilance, rumination, uncertainty intolerance, and internal checking can interact to maintain internal pressure in high‑responsibility environments. The model distinguishes adaptive preparation from distress‑maintaining cognitive loops and outlines developmental, cultural, and professional contexts that may shape these patterns. The synthesis is not a validated causal account; its contribution is organizing possible relationships among recurring processes to guide assessment and future empirical work.
