Pair-Selective Interference Superconductivity A Falsifiable Effective-Model Proposal for High-Tc Superconductivity at Ambient Pressure

We propose a speculative route toward high-temperature superconductivity at ambient pressure based on the deliberate separation of single-electron and pair transport channels. The design principle is to combine (i) symmetry-enforced destructive interference in selected one-electron hopping amplitudes, (ii) local two-electron stabilization associated with neardegenerate valence configurations, and (iii) pair-sector virtual processes whose symmetry allows a finite effective pair-hopping matrix element even when the corresponding oneelectron amplitude vanishes. The resulting low-energy description is a three-dimensional hard-core-boson model with pair hopping, residual pair interactions, and electromagneticcoupling. We derive the interference condition, obtain the second-order effective pair-transfer amplitude using a Schrieffer–Wolff projection, define a local pair-binding criterion, derive a mean-field estimate of phase stiffness, and calculate the thermal and matrix-element scales associated with a target transition temperature of 300K. The central caveat is explicit: the cancellation of one-electron hopping does not, by itself, imply nonzero pair hopping. A microscopic model must establish distinct pair-sector virtual states and non-cancelling pair matrix elements; this is the proposal’s principal unsolved theoretical requirement. We outline a computational screening workflow, material-design constraints, and experiments that could falsify the mechanism. Connections to established work on strong correlations, negative-U systems, quantum geometry, flat bands, and hydride superconductors are discussed. No claim is made that the mechanism is established, that a 300K material is predicted, or that literature priority has been exhaustively demonstrated.
