Pavimentos permeáveis como componente da drenagem urbana: critérios de projeto, desempenho hidráulico e referências normativas

This article examines the application of permeable pavements to urban drainage through a narrative review of Portuguese-language literature and a documentary analysis of Brazilian technical standards. First, the investigation distinguishes water passage through the pavement surface, storage within the pavement structure, and infiltration into the subgrade. It then discusses design criteria and interprets evidence from an experimental installation in São Paulo, Brazil, and a hydrologic simulation in Curitiba, Brazil. The analysis relates performance to hydraulic configuration, site conditions, and maintenance. Finally, the study compiles criteria for a preliminary assessment of alternatives, acknowledges limitations in access to source materials, and conducts neither original testing nor experimental validation of the procedure presented.
