Programa basado en circuitos motores gamificados para el desarrollo de la competencia motriz aplicada al atletismo en jóvenes con discapacidad intelectual de Olimpiadas Especiales Guayas

Introduction: Motor skills are an important component for the sports participation of young people with intellectual disabilities, so it is necessary to create accessible and contextualised experiences. Objective: Design and implement a program based on gamified motor circuits for the development of motor skills applied to athletics in young people with intellectual disabilities from the Special Olympics Foundation, Guayas-Ecuador. Design and implement a program based on gamified motor circuits for the development of motor skills applied to athletics in young people with intellectual disabilities from the Special Olympics Foundation, Guayas-Ecuador. Method: An exploratory pilot study was conducted with a sample of 30 young people selected through intentional sampling. The proposal was organised into progressive motor circuits and included movements, speed, jumps, throws, balance, and coordination, integrating gamification strategies and individual adaptation. To evaluate motor performance, a contextual adaptation of the study's reference instrument was used. Results: The performance showed differences among the evaluated components, with higher descriptive scores in movement and running, motor coordination, and throwing, while jumping had the lowest relative performance. Discussion: The findings highlight the relevance of articulating progressive motor tasks, individual adaptations, and playful resources in order to contextualise the demands of athletics to the characteristics of the participants. Conclusions: The experience provides descriptive evidence on the organization of gamified motor circuits as a didactic alternative to foster inclusive sports experiences and guide the planning of adapted motor activities.
