A regularized lattice Boltzmann model for the solid-liquid phase change
In this study, a regularized lattice Boltzmann method is proposed for solid-liquid phase-change simulations. The governing total-enthalpy equation is solved within a regularized lattice Boltzmann (RLB) framework, which enables accurate tracking of the solid-liquid interface while effectively suppressing numerical diffusion. In addition, the multi-relaxation-time RLB (MRT-RLB) model with standard lattices is developed to solve the flow field. To enhance computational efficiency, an efficient multi-GPU (graphics processing unit) implementation based on CUDA C (Compute Unified Device Architecture) is developed, which is particularly suited for computationally intensive three-dimensional phase-change simulations. The proposed model is validated against a series of one-, two-, and three-dimensional benchmark problems. The results demonstrate that the present solver provides a robust, accurate, and efficient framework for simulating solid-liquid phase-change heat transfer.
