Capacity Building Training For Pokdarwis On Pricing And Ecotourism Package Diversification At Giri Kerthi Ecotourism
The Giri Kerthi Ecotourism site in Pemuteran Village is a nature-based tourism area managed through a community empowerment approach involving a community-based tourism group (*Pokdarwis*). The area possesses various potential attractions for development, including outdoor yoga, trekking or hiking, camping facilities, and opportunities to experience local traditions and culture. However, this potential has not yet been fully optimized through structured tourism packages. Furthermore, existing package prices tend to target international tourists with relatively higher purchasing power, meaning the opportunity to reach the large domestic market remains underutilized. Another issue is the limited competence of the management team. The objective of this community service initiative is to provide training and guidance on pricing tourism packages based on market segments and on diversifying educational ecotourism products. The initiative comprises three stages: pre-activity (disseminating the plan, communicating partner needs, scheduling, and conducting a pre-test to assess participant understanding), core activity (delivering training and guidance), and post-activity (evaluating the program and conducting a post-test). The results indicate a shift in the managers' understanding regarding pricing strategies and package diversification. The managers also found the initiative beneficial, as it enabled them to optimize the ecotourism site's potential and enhance its competitiveness.
