Relasi Gereja dan Pemerintah dalam Falsafah Si Tou Timou Tumou Tou: Konstruksi Teologi Politik Berbasis Budaya Minahasa

AbstractThis study examines the relationship between the church and the government through the Minahasan cultural philosophy Si Tou Timou Tumou Tou, which means “to live is to humanize others,” as the basis for constructing a contextual political theology. This value is regarded as capable of bridging the church’s spiritual interests and the government’s structural interests within an ethical and theological framework. The purpose of the study is to analyze the role of this philosophy in shaping patterns of interaction between the two institutions and its implications for the development of political theology rooted in local culture. The method employed is a literature study with a critical review of political theology, Minahasan cultural values, and the history of the church in Minahasa in the context of its relationship with the government. The findings indicate that integrating this cultural value strengthens relations, reduces potential conflicts, and shapes a church and government relationship concept that is humanitarian, egalitarian, transformative, and socially relevant.
