Tratamiento conservador de la pulpa dental mediante remoción parcial de caries y recubrimiento indirecto con Biodentine® modificado con propóleo al 5%: Reporte de caso clínico

The primary objective of conservative operative dentistry is to preserve pulp vitality and restore the function and anatomy of the tooth. In cases of deep carious lesions, the use of bioceramics combined with natural products such as propolis has emerged as a promising alternative due to their antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and dentinogenesis-inducing properties. This clinical case report describes a 23-year-old patient with a deep proximal carious lesion. Partial caries removal was performed, preserving the axial demineralized dentin, followed by indirect pulp capping using a mixture of Biodentine® powder and a 5% propolis solution. After a follow-up period of 15 to 20 days, the formation of tertiary/reparative dentin and the absence of symptoms were confirmed, allowing the final removal of the residual carious tissue and successful definitive restoration.
