ANALISIS PERBANDINGAN QUARRY WAE KAWANUA DENGAN WAE WAI LAO UNTUK BETON K-250

This study examines the origin of natural sand formed from the weathering of minerals, coral reefs, and shell fragments. Materials such as rock and sand can be transported by rainwater runoff into the sea, after which ocean waves carry some of the sand back to the shore. The methodology involved experimental testing, where specimens were prepared according to established standards and specifications using fine aggregates from the Wae Kawanua and Wae Wai Lao quarries for concrete mixtures. Data and research results were obtained through laboratory testing and analysis. The results indicate that normal concrete made with Wae Kawanua Quarry aggregates met the mix design target strength of 39.20 MPa; the average compressive strengths at 7, 14, 21, and 28 days were 35.2 MPa, 49.8 MPa, 28.3 MPa, and 43.5 MPa, respectively. Similarly, normal concrete made with Wae Wai Lao Quarry aggregates met the mix design target strength of 32.08 MPa, with average compressive strengths of 29.0 MPa, 33.0 MPa, 32.9 MPa, and 33.4 MPa at the same age intervals. Based on these mix design standards, aggregates from the Wae Wai Lao Quarry are suitable for use in concrete mixtures.
