STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM IN UZBEKISTAN THROUGH FORESIGHT TECHNOLOGIES IN THE CONTEXT OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
The article examines the strategic development of tourism in Uzbekistan through foresight technologies in the context of digital transformation. It discusses how digital platforms, data analytics, artificial intelligence, scenario planning and stakeholder engagement can support evidence-informed tourism policy. Based on a theoretical analysis of policy documents and international research, the article proposes an integrated framework linking digital readiness, foresight methods, destination management and sustainable development. A phased implementation model is presented, including horizon scanning, scenario development, pilot initiatives and continuous monitoring. The article argues that foresight should not be treated as a precise prediction of the future; rather, it is a structured process for exploring alternative futures and preparing flexible strategic responses. The proposed approach may help public authorities, tourism businesses and local communities improve resilience, visitor experience and the long-term competitiveness of Uzbekistan's tourism sector.
