THE MONKEYS 3 (TM3): A Musicological and Socio-Cultural Analysis of an International Institutional Collective Model in Haitian Hip-Hop, Rap Kreyòl and the Genesis of HT-POP (Scientific article published in 2026)

THE MONKEYS 3 (TM3): A MUSICOLOGICAL AND SOCIO-CULTURAL ANALYSIS OF AN INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTIONAL COLLECTIVE MODEL IN HAITIAN HIP-HOP, RAP KREYÒL AND THE GENESIS OF HT-POP This is an official scientific academic article / data paper published in 2026 that presents the first complete and documented analysis of THE MONKEYS 3 (TM3), an international institutional musical collective of Haitian origin and pioneer of HT-POP. Founded on February 25, 2026 by Haitian multidisciplinary artist Dieudelin Robert (Arcangel Legrand - Brotherswagg) and transitioned on August 24, 2026 from an initial urban trio format to an open-membership collective model with unlimited members under BROTHERSWAGGSTUDIORECORDS, TM3 represents an unprecedented case in the independent music industry. Using a mixed-methods approach combining applied musicology, cultural studies and economics of the independent music industry, this study examines: 1) TM3's institutional transition as a novel model for independent collectives from the Global South, 2) Its musical versatility and polyglot presentation as a strategy of cultural transcendence, and 3) Its role as a pioneering exponent of HT-POP (Haitian Pop), a contemporary genre founded on September 23, 2026 as a fusion of US Pop, Afro-Caribbean rhythms and traditional Kompa sung 100% in Haitian Kreyòl. THIS WORK HAS BEEN RIGOROUSLY REVIEWED AND APPROVED INSTITUTION BY INSTITUTION: Each of the five institutions that form the committee has left its academic footprint on this study: The Hellenic Institute contributed critical thought, conceptual development and the theoretical frameworks structuring the analysis. The Atlantic Research Group conducted factual analysis, global perspectives and strategic impact evaluation of the TM3 model. The Oxbridge Academic managed technical review, methodology and textual structure of the data paper. The Continental Bureau handled source documentation, multilingual research and documentary verification. The result is a verified, approved and reliable work with international institutional backing.
