Dentro y Fuera de la Escuela: Trayectorias Educativas no Lineales de Jóvenes en un Proyecto de Reinserción Educativa en Chile
Interrupted educational trajectories deepen inequalities and affect the right to education. In Chile, Educational Reintegration Projects address this problem but show limited institutionalization and weak articulation with the formal system. This article analyzes how young people's non-linear educational trajectories are constructed in processes of re-engagement, through a qualitative, biographical study based on narratives from seven participants in a reintegration project. Findings show these trajectories are shaped between school, the street, and the project, whose entry, not leaving school, is the turning point where young people resignify their relationship with education. Re-engagement thus extends beyond returning to traditional schooling.
