DIÁLOGOS ENTRE PESQUISA ETNOGRÁFICA E ESTUDOS DE LETRAMENTO
This work aims to present the development of an ethnography research conducted in a community prep-course of the central region of Rio Grande do Sul that investigated the occurrence of literacy events and literacy practices in literature classes and reading group workshops. Our theoretical framework is based on the classic works of the New Literacy Studies (Heath, 1982; Street, 1984) and their approach in brazilian discussions (Kleiman, 1995). We understand the ethnography and the participant observation based on Ingold (2011). In this paper, we present an excerpt of the data generated through notes and field diaries that register the emergence of literacy events in interactions between students and teachers at community prep-course. In our work, we describe and classify the literacy events based on their mode of composition and initiation and according to their pedagogical or emergent nature (Silva, 2011, 2012). Finally, we propose some reflections about the pertinence of ethnography for investigating the presence and uses of literacy culture in popular education contexts.
