Measuring the Dielectric Constant of Materials: Experimental Investigation Using Capacitance-Based Techniques
An experimental study determining the relative permittivity (dielectric constant) of solid and liquid materials using capacitance-based techniques. The measurements employ parallel-plate and cylindrical capacitor configurations on a dielectric test unit to evaluate Bakelite, Glass, Teflon, Carbon Tetrachloride (CCl4), and Lead Zirconate Titanate (PZT). The report compares measured values against literature benchmarks, provides uncertainty and chi-square analysis, and models the time-dependent relaxation behavior in ferroelectric PZT.
