Updated global estimates of carbon burial in seagrass sediments
Seagrass meadows are important blue carbon ecosystems, yet their contribution to global carbon burial remains uncertain due to limited direct measurements. A Nature Communications study provides a more robust assessment of carbon burial in seagrass sediments by compiling a large dataset of directly dated sediment cores and applying a consistent methodology.
