Sindhudurg tourism bibliometric analysis from 2012 to 2026 using Dimensions AI

The study aimed to examine the ‘Sindhudurg tourism’ subject area by conducting a bibliometric analysis of 366 research documents published during 2012 to 2026. For this purpose, the required records were derived from the Dimension AI open database. The study aims to find out annual scientific production, types of research documents published, growth rate of the topic, average citations per year, average citations per document & citation distribution, life cycle of annual scientific production, most relevant sources, and most relevant authors. The findings showed that the number of research papers published between 2012 and 2017 is quite low; however, an increase in research activity is evident in the subsequent period. The research is primarily available in the form of articles, book chapters, and edited books, with journal articles accounting for 41.3% of the total documents. The annual growth rate of the subject under study exceeds ten, indicating that this topic is emerging and attracting significant interest from researchers. Older publications show a high average total citations per document. In 2012 it was 52.25 and in 2013 it was 30.8, as they got longer citable years. The average citations per document is 11.61, and 92 research documents have received zero citations, while 165 research documents have received between one and ten citations. The subject field showed maturity & stabilized phase in late 2022. After bibliometric analysis, a total of nine sources were identified as the most relevant sources and nine authors as the most relevant authors. Bukvic A. received 134 citations for his work published in Sustainability. This document is the top publication in our corpus.
