Generation Is Not Confirmation: L000 Epistemic Constraints, Auditable AI Architecture, and the Universal Protocol Conjecture / 生成不等于确认:L000 认识论约束、可审查人工智能架构与碳硅通用协议猜想
Large language models are already very good at speaking. They can generate fluent, complete, and highly plausible judgments. But a proposition being generated is not the same as that proposition being confirmed. Where it came from, what supports it, how strongly the support licenses a conclusion, and what could overturn it are separate questions. This paper does not claim that contemporary language models never reason, nor that existing AI systems lack verification mechanisms. It asks a narrower question: if an AI system is expected to produce judgments that can be audited, challenged, and revised, what distinctions must it at least preserve? We begin from the three-sentence L000 baseline: an argument consists of premises and a conclusion, with premises used to support the conclusion; reviewing a conclusion requires review of both premises and inference; and whether a conclusion is acceptable depends, at minimum, on whether the premises hold and whether they sufficiently support that conclusion. From this starting point arise questions of provenance, scope, support, claim strength, suspension, revision, independent verification, persistence, and action authorization. These questions should not be collapsed merely because they are expressed through the same linguistic channel. A user asserting P, a model inferring P, a model repeating its own prior P, and an external source independently checking P may all surface as the same sentence while carrying different epistemic status. Likewise, saying “uncertain,” recording that a premise remains unresolved, and actually having insufficient evidence are not the same event. We therefore separate linguistic output, judgment state, and epistemic grounds, and compare three architectural bets: external epistemic supervision, endogenous epistemic-state learning, and layered or multi-path verification. A small trusted rule kernel plus a proposition ledger is only one candidate. A ledger can be perfectly orderly and semantically wrong from the first step; formal consistency is not factual correctness. The contribution claimed here is not a completed architecture. It is a falsifiable boundary: generating a proposition does not, by itself, confer the authority to confirm that proposition. If the proposed distinctions fail to improve independently evaluated decisions at acceptable cost, or if simpler methods match them, the architectural claims should be narrowed or abandoned. The paper also states an AI Conjecture: that a universal protocol must exist between carbon-based intelligence and silicon-based intelligence, with L000 proposed as its minimal core. This is a conjecture, not an established theorem. The existence and necessity of such a protocol, the adequacy of L000, and the claim that L000 is minimal are separate questions requiring distinct arguments and tests.
