THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF EXPLANATORY AND LEARNER'S DICTIONARIES IN UZBEK LINGUISTICS

The article analyzes the improvement of explanatory and learner’s dictionaries in Uzbek linguistics after 2000. By comparing the two-volume and five-volume explanatory dictionaries, it shows the changes in the word list, the principles of definition and the structure of the dictionary entry. It also covers the types of learner’s dictionaries, digital lexicography and the influence of language policy on the development of lexicography.
