Certezas fragmentadas. La procelosa vida del “comandante Morales”

Hidden among inaccuracies, the life of Commander Morales allows for debate about the use of document as providers of certainty. Sources are always partial in several senses and their fragmentary contribution requires conceiving them as imperfect pieces of a puzzle in permanent construction, ultimately incomplete and distorted, where there is no room for shortcuts. Several interesting lives come together in a village near the front to compose a portrait of the Republican rearguard that calls into question the usual narrative and leads us to reflect on the limits of historical knowledge.
