Evaluation of Hospital Information System Integration to Support Interunit Information Flow at Grand Med Hospital in 2026

Integration of the Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS) determines whether registration, examination, diagnostic service, pharmacy, and administrative data are available to the next unit in a timely manner. This article aims to develop a framework for evaluating SIMRS integration at Grand Med Hospital in 2026. The method consists of a narrative review of regulations, interoperability standards, and research on health data exchange, followed by the design of a mixed methods case study. The units of analysis are information transfers among registration, outpatient clinics or the emergency department, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, inpatient wards, and the cashier. Key indicators include data completeness, latency, transaction failures, duplicate data entry, consistency of patient identity, and traceability of request status. The proposed assessment matches patient and visit identifiers across systems, measures the time from data transmission until the receiving unit can use the data, and records failed transactions or those requiring manual correction. Indonesia’s Minister of Health Regulation No. 24 of 2022 on Medical Records provides the regulatory reference, while HL7 FHIR, the standard used by SATUSEHAT, provides a reference for tracing relationships among patient, encounter, examination request, and result data. The review produces an audit matrix, operational definitions of indicators, and improvement priorities that can be tested using system logs, observations, documents, and interviews. Applying this framework can yield a measurable evaluation once the hospital validates the scope of integration and provides operational data for 2026
