Factors Associated with Collaborative Attitudes Among Health Professions Students in Interprofessional Education: A Systematic Review

Interprofessional education (IPE) aims to strengthen collaboration among health professions students. This systematic review examined factors associated with collaborative attitudes and related interprofessional outcomes among students participating in IPE. A systematic literature search was conducted using PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Taylor & Francis. Of the 1,159 records identified, 108 duplicates were removed, 1,051 records underwent screening, and 10 studies were included in the narrative synthesis. The factors investigated encompassed demographic characteristics, personality traits, learning styles, psychological needs, team related characteristics, and educational approaches. Structured IPE activities generally demonstrated favorable interprofessional outcomes. However, variations in study designs, assessment instruments, and outcome constructs limited the comparability of findings across studies
