Genitourinary menopausal syndrome in peri- and postmenopause
Genitourinary menopausal syndrome (GUMS) is a complex of genital, sexual, and urological symptoms that occur during peri- and postmenopause due to decreased ovarian follicular activity and progressive hypoestrogenism. The high prevalence of the syndrome and the negative impact of its manifestations on both the physical and psychological well-being of women make the diagnosis and treatment of GUMS particularly important.
