CRITERIA FOR ASSESSING THE PHYTOSANITARY RISK OF PLANT-PARASITIC NEMATODES IN THE DOG ROSE ROOT ZONE

The article systematizes diagnostic and ecological criteria for assessing the phytosanitary risk posed by plant-parasitic nematodes associated with the roots and rhizosphere soil of dog rose (Rosa canina L.) under the conditions of Surkhandarya Region. The potential harmful characteristics of representatives of the genera Pratylenchus and Ditylenchus, as well as the need to distinguish them from free-living and microorganism-feeding nematodes, are examined. The analysis establishes the relationship between taxonomic identification, sampling consistency, population density, plant symptoms, and evidence of pathogenicity. It is demonstrated that the detection of a particular species does not, by itself, confirm the cause of a disease or the extent of economic damage. A step-by-step risk assessment procedure and a method for classifying results according to the level of supporting evidence are recommended for regional monitoring.
