Mapping the Urinary Metabolome Across Early Chronic Kidney Disease: Stage-Associated Metabolic Signatures and Quantitative Differences

Early-stage chronic kidney disease (CKD) is associated with metabolic alterations that may vary across disease stages, yet metabolic differences between adjacent stages remain insufficiently characterized. This study aimed to delineate urinary metabolic profiles across CKD stages G1–G3B, identify stage-associated metabolic differences, and quantify changes in metabolite concentrations between adjacent stages. High-resolution proton nuclear magnetic resonance (¹H NMR) metabolomics was performed on urine samples from 107 participants.
