QickShare: A Web-Based Temporary File Sharing System Using Secure Access Codes

QickShare is a web-based temporary file sharing system designed to simplify file transfer without requiring user registration or account creation. The system allows a sender to upload a file and receive a unique six-digit access code, which can then be shared with the receiver. The receiver enters the code to access and download the corresponding file. The code remains valid for a limited period, while uploaded files are automatically removed after a defined retention period. The system is implemented using React and TypeScript for the frontend, Supabase for database and storage services, Bun as the runtime environment, and Vercel for deployment. The project focuses on reducing the friction involved in short-term file sharing while keeping the workflow simple and accessible. This paper presents the motivation, system architecture, core features, implementation approach, evaluation plan, limitations, and possible future improvements of QickShare. The current work is presented as a software prototype, and no unsupported performance or security claims are made without formal evaluation.
