Improving the Method and Computational Algorithm for the Comprehensive Assessment of Employees’ Professional Potential in Service Enterprises

This article examines the improvement of methods and computational algorithms for the comprehensive assessment of employee potential in service enterprises. As digital technologies, electronic services and digital customer interaction channels expand, employee potential cannot be adequately assessed solely through professional knowledge or work outcomes. A comprehensive assessment should also consider functional capacity, psychological adaptability, organisational and ethical readiness, and professional and digital competencies. The study reviews competency-based management, multi-criteria decision-making, digital competence frameworks and human resource assessment approaches. A methodological framework is proposed to organise employee potential into four interrelated assessment domains, normalise indicators, determine weighting coefficients and calculate a composite index. The article also discusses the importance of validating assessment reliability, accounting for job-specific requirements and protecting employees’ personal data. The proposed approach may support the identification of employee development needs and the systematic improvement of human resource management decisions in service enterprises. The framework is presented as a methodological proposal; its empirical validity requires testing with real organisational data.
