On module endomorphisms annihilated by residually square-free polynomials over Artinian local PIRs

We consider finitely generated free modules and their endomorphisms over an Artinian local PIR, also known as an SPIR. We characterize submodules of such modules by constructing minimal generating sets from given bases. We prove that any endomorphism possessing a square-free annihilating polynomial modulo the maximal ideal admits a principal annihilating ideal, and establish that every free invariant submodule under such an endomorphism has an invariant complement. Moreover, for such endomorphisms, we detail the construction of invariant submodules and compute the number of free invariant submodules when the ring is finite. Furthermore, we introduce canonical matrices associated with these endomorphisms, yielding a complete characterization of matrix similarity via invariant polynomials in this context. Finally, we address the non-derogatory case, obtaining a sharper characterization of submodule invariance.
