STUDY OF THE EFFICIENCY OF ANTIFOAMING AGENTS IN DIETHANOLAMINE SOLUTIONS DURING NATURAL GAS TREATMENT

This study investigated the effectiveness of an antifoaming agent based on the EO–PO–PDMS block copolymer in diethanolamine (DEA) solutions under laboratory conditions. The effects of reagent addition at various concentrations, solution temperature, and foaming processes were evaluated. The results showed that the EO–PO segments promote the uniform distribution of PDMS throughout the solution, while PDMS, owing to its low surface tension and high hydrophobicity, rapidly disrupts the foam film and reduces foam collapse time. The findings provide a scientific basis for the effective application of EO–PO–PDMS-based antifoaming agents in amine-based gas treatment processes.
