Distance-Gated 360-Degree Waypoint Views for Pedestrian Walks: Mapping Fused Step-Count and GNSS Distance onto Virtual Routes, with Walking-Triggered Auto-Close, Distance-Based Prefetch and Intro-plus-Loop Omnidirectional Video

Defensive publication / technical disclosure (prior art). A mobile walking system converts the distance a pedestrian actually walks, anywhere, into progress along a virtual route through an imaginary world. Walked distance is the larger of a GNSS (GPS) distance, filtered by reported accuracy, stillness speed and implausible jumps, and a pedometer distance (step count × stride length). Virtual waypoints (stops) are placed at fixed distances on the route. While walking, only a simple progress map is shown. When the fused distance passes a waypoint, a looping omnidirectional (360-degree, spherical, equirectangular) video of that place opens and is explored by device orientation (gyroscope look-around). If the user keeps walking, the immersive view closes automatically after a short further distance (10 m in the preferred embodiment), for pedestrian safety (distracted walking). Waypoint media is prefetched a set distance ahead (150 m). Videos may play an intro once and then loop from a marked loop-start time. Methods for producing seamless 360-degree loops by keyframed image-to-video generation, procedural particle and domain-warp layers, Gaussian-splat rendering and game-engine panoramic rendering are also described. This record contains two files: the English document (authoritative) and a Japanese translation of the same content The document gives preferred numeric values, alternative embodiments, claim-like statements and extensions so that the ideas are enabled and citable as prior art. Commercial embodiment: the SunPo iPhone app (Apple App Store, app ID 6789954864) at the time of publication. The licence covers the text and figures; the name "SunPo" is the author's product name.
