Technical and tactical training of 16–17 year old karate fighters according to WKF version at competitions of various levels

The features of the structuring of technical and tactical actions (TTD) of karatekas in the age category of 16–17 years (WKF version) during performances at international and national competitions in 2025 are highlighted. Purpose: to substantiate the structure of technical and tactical preparedness of karatekas aged 16–17 years based on a comparative analysis of competitive activity at international and national tournaments. Methods: theoretical analysis of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical observations, video analysis using a specialized TTD classifier, methods of mathematical statistics. Results: 50 fights of leading karatekas were analyzed within the framework of four tournaments in 2025 (WKF Premier League, WKF Series A, Ukrainian Championship, Ukrainian Cup; 50 fights in the observation program for each type of tournament). The prevalence of attacking actions in international competitions in the Premier League is established at 43.7% and in Serie A at 50.3%, and in the Ukrainian Championship at 47.8%. It is proven that the specificity of the Ukrainian Cup lies in a sharp increase in the share of counter-attacking actions (40.4%) in the absence of maneuvering at different distances. Attacking and defensive actions remain the basic foundation of the technical and tactical arsenal of karatekas, regardless of the competition rank, totaling the lion's share of all performed actions, the analysis of the ratio between actual and theoretical values demonstrates a high dynamics of shifting accents: if in the "Series A" fights there is a clear bias towards active attack (126 attacks against the expected 113.5), then in the Ukrainian Cup the emphasis shifts towards counterattacks due to a slight decrease in the number of primary attacking actions (99 attacks against the expected 113.5), which indicates the adaptability of the tactical preparedness of athletes and their ability to change the style of fighting in accordance with the strategic objectives of a particular competition. Conclusions: the need for differentiation of the technical and tactical training of karatekas aged 16–17 depending on the competition rank is substantiated, which involves strengthening active maneuvering and combinational defense for international starts and improving counterattacking actions for domestic cup competitions
