On Solutions for Singular Toda System on Surfaces with Boundary

This paper studies a singular Toda system with linear source terms on a compact surface $Σ$ with boundary $\partialΣ$. The aim is twofold. First, using isothermal coordinates and reflection arguments near the boundary, we perform blow-up analysis obtaining a compactness result. Second, by assuming that $\partialΣ$ has at least two connected components, we prove a general existence result via a min-max scheme combined with a retraction argument.

Abstract

This paper studies a singular Toda system with linear source terms on a compact surface $Σ$ with boundary $\partialΣ$. The aim is twofold. First, using isothermal coordinates and reflection arguments near the boundary, we perform blow-up analysis obtaining a compactness result. Second, by assuming that $\partialΣ$ has at least two connected components, we prove a general existence result via a min-max scheme combined with a retraction argument.
