Analysis of the Low Achievement of Non-Communicable Disease Control Programs
Non-communicable disease (NCD) control programs are a key priority in improving public health outcomes. However, the achievement of NCD programs remains low in several regions, including the working area of Salak Primary Health Center, Pakpak Bharat Regency. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between knowledge level, the role of health workers, and access to health facilities with the achievement of NCD control programs. This study employed a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of community members in the working area of Salak Primary Health Center selected using purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using bivariate analysis (chi-square test) and multivariate analysis (logistic regression). The results showed that knowledge level (p=0.006; OR=2.321), the role of health workers (p=0.013; OR=2.000), and access to health facilities (p=0.011; OR=2.045) were significantly associated with the low achievement of NCD programs. Knowledge level was identified as the most dominant factor influencing the program outcomes. In conclusion, the low achievement of NCD programs is influenced by multifactorial determinants, including individual, healthcare service, and environmental factors. Therefore, efforts to improve health education, strengthen the role of health workers, and enhance accessibility to health services are essential to improve NCD program outcomes.
