Arquivos indomesticados e o corpo na obra de Albertina Carri

This article takes a transversal approach to the work of Albertina Carri, focusing on her use of audiovisual archives, as seen in her films Restos (2010), Pets (2012) and Cuatreros (2016). Adopting a perspective oriented towards practices of audiovisual reemployment allows for an innovative articulation of Carri's work, bringing together her concerns with national political memory and gender and sexuality. The theme of the body is particularly relevant in these works, whether in relation to death, motherhood, sex, or the notion of film as a physical, corporeal and therefore finite medium. The films are analyzed in light of their exploration of the political, social and cultural processes involved in the domestication of bodies. The notion of untamed archives is then mobilized as a form of insubordination against inherited memory processes.
