Mental Adjustment to Cancer, Cancer-related Traumatic Stress, and Health-Related Quality of Life Among Cancer Patients in Nigeria: A Cross-Sectional Mediation Analysis
BackgroundCancer is a significant psychosocial stressor that adversely affects patients' psychological wellbeing and health-related quality of life (HRQoL).Although the association between Cancer-related traumatic stress and decreased HRQoL is well established, the mediating role of mental adjustment to cancer (MAC) in this relationship remains underexplored, especially in low-and middle-income countries. This study investigates whether MAC mediates the relationship between Cancer-related traumatic stress and HRQoL among patients with cancer in Nigeria.
