The Influence of Religious Moderation Values on National Commitment and the Attitudes of Tolerance among Islamic Senior High School Students within the Integrated Islamic School Network in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB)

This study aims to analyze the influence of Religious Moderation Values on National Commitment and Tolerance Attitudes among members of Integrated Islamic Senior High Schools (SMA IT) within the Integrated Islamic School Network (JSIT) in West Nusa Tenggara Province, both partially and simultaneously. The study employed a quantitative survey approach. The research population consisted of members of SMA ITs affiliated with the JSIT of West Nusa Tenggara Province, including SMA IT Bukit Qur'an, SMA IT Ar-Risalah Paok Lombok, SMA IT Samawa Cendekia, SMA IT Insan Qur'an Mulia Jonggat, SMA IT Cahaya Bangsa, and SMA IT Anak Soleh Mataram. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed through simple linear regression and multivariate regression analysis (MANOVA). The findings indicate that Religious Moderation Values have a positive and statistically significant effect on National Commitment (R² = 49.3%; p = 0.000) and Tolerance Attitudes (R² = 54.6%; p = 0.000). Simultaneously, Religious Moderation Values also have a significant effect on the combined variables of National Commitment and Tolerance Attitudes (58.1%). These findings reinforce the theory of religious moderation, the Islamic concept of wasatiyyah (moderation), and the characteristics of Indonesian Islam as moderate, inclusive, and accommodative toward local cultures. This study confirms that the internalization of Religious Moderation Values within JSIT-affiliated Integrated Islamic Senior High Schools plays a strategic role in fostering national character, promoting tolerance, cultivating a culture of peace, and encouraging respect for local wisdom as the foundation of Indonesia's multicultural society.
