A Hybrid Optimization Algorithm Based on Differential Evolution and Gray Wolf Optimizer for Solving Economic Load Dispatch Problems

Today, the economic production of energy and its transmission at the lowest possible cost is one of the most important issues in various fields of engineering. Therefore, one of the most important optimization problems in power systems and electrical networks is the economic load dispatch (ELD) problem. On the other hand, in the last two decades, the use of optimization meta-heuristic algorithms has been investigated and used by researchers in a significant and successful manner. In this article, we have introduced a powerful optimization algorithm using the combination of two popular and powerful algorithms, Differential Evolution (DE) and the Gray Wolf Optimizer (GWO) (called the HDE algorithm), and then we have tested and implemented the proposed combined method on different types of ELD problems. In the second step, we have compared our simulation results with different algorithms from other studies. This comparison clearly shows that the proposed method in this article is a powerful and useful method for the ELD problems with various functions and in different dimensions.
