Graphene oxide cellular uptake by HRTEM v1
Protocol (presentation dated 15/01/24) for the examination by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) of V79 cells treated with different concentrations of a graphene oxide water dispersion (4.0 mg/ml; final concentrations 102.4 µg/mL and 256 µg/mL). Fixed cells are contrasted with OsO4, dehydrated, embedded in methacrylate and cut into ultra-thin sections for TEM, to visualise the uptake of graphene oxide flakes. Results: TEM micrographs of V79 cells treated with 102.4 µg/mL (Sample 1) and 256 µg/mL (Sample 2) graphene oxide show internalized graphene oxide flakes in the cells and flakes outside the cells (see figures).
