Pediatrik Cerrahi ve Anestezi Süreçlerinde Ebeveyn Deneyimi, Kaygı ve Memnuniyetin Değerlendirilmesi: Kesitsel Anket Çalışması

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate parental experiences during pediatric surgery and anesthesia and to identify factors independently associated with parental trust.Method: This cross-sectional descriptive study included 167 parents of children undergoing surgical procedures.Data were collected using a structured questionnaire developed by the researchers.Factors independently associated with parental trust were evaluated using multivariable binary logistic regression analysis. Results: A total of 167 parents participated in the study. The highest level of anxiety was observed for the item concerning anesthesia-related complications. In multivariable logistic regression analysis, communication quality (OR=22.91;95% CI: 7.54-69.63;p<0.001) and preoperative distraction interventions (OR=2.99;95% CI: 1.01-8.83;p=0.047) were independently associated with higher parental trust.Adequacy of preoperative information and parental anxiety score were not independently significant in the multivariable model. Conclusion: Communication quality and preoperative distraction interventions were associated with higher parental trust. However, because of the cross-sectional design of the study, these associations should not be interpreted as causal effects.
