Factors Associated with Compliance with Post-Cryotherapy Follow-Up Program at Halmahera Community Health Center Semarang City
Cervical cancer remains a major public health problem with high incidence and mortality rates. One of the preventive efforts is through Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) screening and cryotherapy treatment for precancerous lesions. However, adherence to post-cryotherapy follow-up remains low, which may increase the risk of progression of precancerous lesions. This study aimed to identify factors associated with adherence to post-cryotherapy follow-up at Halmahera Public Health Center, Semarang City. This study was an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design, involving 118 respondents selected using purposive sampling. The dependent variable was follow-up adherence, while the independent variables included age, education level, occupation, marital status, knowledge, access, family support, and the role of health workers. Data were collected through questionnaires and medical records and analyzed using the Chi-square test. The results showed that factors significantly associated with adherence were education (p=0.021), knowledge (p=0.016), family support (p=0.001), and the role of health workers (p=0.033). In conclusion, education level, knowledge, family support, and the role of health workers are factors associated with adherence to post-cryotherapy follow-up at Halmahera Primary Health Center, Semarang City.
