The impact of crossfit training on attention indicators in women aged 35–45 years

The article investigates the influence of CrossFit training on the attention indicators of women aged 35–45 years. The aim of the study was to investigate the impact of a CrossFit training program on the attention indicators of women aged 35–45 years and to experimentally evaluate its effectiveness. The study involved women of the first mature age who were divided into a control group and an experimental group. Participants in the control group attended traditional strength fitness classes, whereas the experimental group followed an author-designed CrossFit training program. The intervention lasted ten weeks and included functional exercises of varying intensity aimed at improving physical fitness while simultaneously stimulating cognitive activity through coordinated, dynamic, and high-intensity movement patterns. To assess attention performance, the Landolt Rings psychodiagnostic test was used. The following attention characteristics were evaluated: productivity, stability, span, concentration, and attention switching. The obtained data were processed using methods of mathematical statistics, allowing the identification of statistically significant differences between the groups before and after the pedagogical experiment. The findings demonstrated that the proposed CrossFit program had a positive effect on all investigated attention parameters. Women in the experimental group showed statistically significant improvements in attention productivity, stability, span, concentration, and switching compared with the control group, whose participants engaged in strength fitness training (p < 0.05; p < 0.001). The greater improvements observed in the experimental group can be explained by the specific features of CrossFit, including continuous variation of functional exercises, high training intensity, coordination tasks, rapid decision-making, and frequent switching between different motor activities, all of which contribute to enhanced cognitive functioning. The results confirm the effectiveness of CrossFit as an innovative form of functional training for improving cognitive functions, particularly attention, in women aged 35–45 years.
