Integrasi Nilai-Nilai Islam dalam Sertifikasi Halal sebagai Instrumen Penguatan Ekonomi Syariah di Indonesia
Halal certification has generally been understood as an instrument for providing legal assurance regarding the halal status of products. However, from an Islamic economic perspective, halal certification has a broader dimension because it can serve as an instrument for internalizing Islamic values into economic activities. This study aims to analyze the integration of Islamic values into halal certification and its contribution to strengthening the Islamic economy in Indonesia. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a library research method through a review of relevant scholarly articles and literature. The data were analyzed using content and thematic analysis to identify the relationships among Islamic values, halal certification, the halal value chain, and the strengthening of the Islamic economy. The findings indicate that the values of tawhid, trustworthiness (amanah), justice ('adl), honesty (ṣidq), responsibility (mas'uliyyah), and public benefit (maslahah) can be integrated into the halal certification process. Such integration strengthens consumer protection, market trust, product competitiveness, the halal value chain, and MSME empowerment. From the perspective of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, halal certification functions not merely as a compliance instrument but also as a mechanism for promoting public welfare and social and economic benefits. Therefore, halal certification can be positioned as a strategic instrument for strengthening the Islamic economy when its implementation is directed toward the internalization of Islamic values and the sustainable development of the halal industry ecosystem.
