Universal Landing System with Three Cables and Umbrella Anchor - A Comprehensive Landing System for All Celestial Bodies Author: Ahmed Kadhim Salih - Independent Researcher - Basra, Iraq

Universal Landing System with Three Cables and Umbrella AnchorThis paper presents a novel universal landing system (AL-BURAQ 9) designed for all celestial bodies including Moon, Mars, Europa and comets. The system uses three high-strength steel cables (120° distribution) deployed during descent, each equipped with a 1-meter umbrella anchor that opens upon impact. Hydraulic braking system ensures controlled deceleration to 0.3g with final stop at 5 meters altitude, eliminating need for landing legs. Advantages include: surface independence, reusability, low mass, and stability. The system surpasses traditional leg-based landing and is applicable for future crewed missions. Keywords: Space landing, Mars, Moon, umbrella anchor, tethered descent, AL-BURAQAuthor: Ahmed Kadhim Salih - ORCID: 0009-0008-9786-4695 - Basra, Iraq
