Value-based foundations for fostering moral and volitional qualities in school-age youth through applied physical training

The article addresses the issue of fostering moral and volitional qualities in school-age youth through applied physical training from the perspective of the axiological approach. It elucidates the significance of values as meaning-making orientations and internal regulators of individual behaviour that determine the moral direction of volitional efforts. It has been established that applied physical training provides favourable opportunities for the practical internalisation of values and the acquisition of experience in moral and volitional behaviour. The value-based foundations for fostering moral and volitional qualities in school-age youth through applied physical training have been identified and theoretically substantiated. These include recognising life and health as the highest values; affirming human dignity and mutual respect; combining freedom of choice with personal responsibility; directing volitional effort towards a morally justified goal; focusing on self-improvement; prioritising cooperation, mutual assistance, and shared responsibility; adhering to fairness and honesty; and transferring value-based experience to everyday life. It has been substantiated that the comprehensive implementation of these foundations ensures the unity of physical self-improvement, the internalisation of socially significant values, and the acquisition of experience in moral and volitional behaviour by school-age youth.
