THE USE OF GEOGEBRA-BASED LEARNING MEDIA IN IMPROVING THE UNDERSTANDING OF VOLUME AND SURFACE AREA OF SOLID FIGURES IN FIFTH GRADE

Media in learning is very necessary. One of the media that can be used in learning, especially mathematics, is volume and surface area of geometric shapes, namely geogebra. Geogebra can be used to increase students’ learning motivation and ultimately improve learning outcomes. This media is also in accordance with the scientific learning approach which is the core of the 2013 Curriculum, and can be used as a relevant resource that is able to facilitate students in activating mathematics learning resources in accordance with learning demands in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. This research aims to find out and show that the Geogebra application learning tool is suitable for use in studying volume and surface area of spatial shapes. The method in this research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving class V students at SDN 8 Prabumulih as research subjects. This research aims to measure the effectiveness of using learning media in the form of GeoGebra which is specifically designed to understand the volume and surface area of spatial shapes. The research results show that students are more interested and motivated so that their understanding of the material being taught can increase.
