ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN EDUCATION: MODERN TEACHING METHODS AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR DEVELOPMENT

Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are developing rapidly. At this time, it becomes necessary to reconsider both the content and the organizational forms of the educational system. The article reviews international research on the application of AI in education, and also provides a comparative analysis of modern teaching methods. Namely, adaptive learning, intelligent tutoring systems, generative AI-based support, learning analytics, and formative assessment are analyzed. It is shown that the pedagogical effectiveness of AI depends less on the technology itself and more on the purpose for which it is used, the role of the teacher, and its alignment with the ethical framework. For Azerbaijan, the limitations of language resources, teacher professional training, and institutional support within the national strategy are assessed as key directions for development. As a result, five recommendations are presented for the responsible implementation of AI.
