This study aims to analyze the active role of midwives in expanding access to and use of contraception in the community. Methods: the literature used included 100 international and national journals such as Google Scholar, Science Direct, and PubMed with the keywords access, service, contraception, midwife. Then the next stage is to select journals by paying attention to the year of publication (2015-2025). Results: It was found in several journals that there are factors that affect several obstacles in efforts to increase access to contraception, including: lack of health promotion carried out related to contraception in some areas, low public interest in contraception due to perceptions related to adverse side effects, limited access to health services, patriarchal culture that affects maternal participation in family planning are also obstacles found in several areas. journal. Conclusion: Increasing access to contraceptive services through the role of midwives is fairly effective in several areas that have advanced health services, as well as the availability of human resources for health workers and adequate health services are also one of the determining factors for increasing the desired access. However, behind its effectiveness, there are also several obstacles that increase access to contraceptive services by midwives that are not effective in the community
