The Exhaustive Viewer: Deterministic Enumeration of a Frame's Bit Space on a Photonic Register

We propose The Exhaustive Viewer, a computing system that displays any image of a given format by covering the entire bit space of that format. A 1920x1080 frame at 24 bits per pixel occupies about 50 million bits, so the number of distinct images is about 2 to the power of 50,000,000. Every picture that is possible in the format, including a picture of the future, is one frame of this finite set. We outline an implementation on a photonic register with light controlling light (Photon-Controls-Photon), which replaces sequential enumeration with simultaneous specification of all combinations. The present work addresses the feasibility of the computation and of its output to a display; filtering and addressing are deferred to the next stage. The work is fundamental rather than product-oriented.
