WHY DO BOOKS CROSS OCEANS? THE SLOVENIAN PATHS OF THE BOOKS OF UKRAINIAN PRIEST ALEXIUS PELIPENKO "UKRAINIAN CRY" (1937-2015)

The paper discusses the reciprocity of the Slovenian and Ukrainian diasporas in Argentina. The analysis of literary and historiographical sources also reveals, among other things, the influence of the book "Ukraine cries" by the Ukrainian priest Alexei Pelipenko (1893-1983) on the Slovenian public and the connection of generations of Slovenian emigrants in Argentina with their distant European homeland and with Ukraine. In this regard, the interest among Slovenians in the Russian Bolshevik terror in Ukraine in the 1930s and also after the start of the Russian war against Ukraine in 2014 and up to the present day is explained.
