Nickel-Catalyzed C(sp 2 )-H Arylation of Aryl Amides with Aryl Bromide: Synthesis of Telmisartan and Sartan Intermediates
The sustainable synthesis of biaryl sartan intermediates has significant potential in the pharmaceutical industry. Herein, nickel catalyzed C(sp²)-H functionalization of aryl amides with aryl bromides has been disclosed and used in synthesis of telmisartan and sartan intermediates. Deuterium exchange, competitive reaction and radical clock experiment support a Ni(II)/Ni(IV) catalytic cycle.
