NEW EVIDENCE ABOUT THE “HOZIQ KULLIYOTI”

This article examines a manuscript of Junaydullah Hoziq’s Kulliyat preserved in the Hamid Sulaymon collection at the Abu Rayhan Beruni Institute of Oriental Studies, Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. The study describes the manuscript’s physical features, language, colophons, structure, and the genres represented in its four main parts. A descriptive and comparative textual approach is used to examine the catalogue record, the manuscript itself, and information published by E. Shodiyev. The findings show that the manuscript comprises 221 folios and contains a genealogical treatise, “Voqeoti Islomiya,” the epic “Yusuf and Zulaykho,” and “Devoni Hoziq.” The colophons indicate copying dates of 1325–1326 AH, while the manuscript’s predominantly Persian language with some Turkic material differs from the catalogue’s Uzbek-only description. Comparison of the divan’s contents and dimensions with Shodiyev’s account suggests that AR-3021 is a different witness of Hoziq’s Kulliyat rather than the copy formerly held in Shodiyev’s personal library. The article also identifies unresolved questions concerning the relationship between manuscript witnesses, the dating of individual works, and the number and language of poems. These findings provide a basis for further collation, verification of textual variants, and preparation of a critical scholarly edition.
